Gibbs: I was told not to acknowledge existence of drone program | The Ticket - Yahoo! News

Robert Gibbs, President Barack Obama's former press secretary, says that he was once instructed by the White House not to acknowledge the administration's use of drones.
"When I went through the process of becoming press secretary, one of the first things they told me was, you're not even to acknowledge the drone program," Gibbs said on MSNBC's "Up With Chris Hayes" on Sunday. "You're not even to discuss that it exists."

Yahoo! News: Most of the drones that have begun to appear in the skies above the U.S. homeland don't resemble the Predators or Reapers flown by the U.S. military and CIA above Afghanistan and Pakistan. Instead, these smaller versions of flying, unmanned vehicles almost rival the animal kingdom in their diversity.

Government agencies such as NASA and U.S. Customs and Border Protection operate aircraft-size military drones that take off from runways like airplanes. Labs in the United States have even built tiny drones that look like hummingbirds. But most drones resemble the radio-controlled aircraft and toy helicopters flown by hobbyists for decades, capable of taking off horizontally, vertically or by being thrown into the air like a trained falcon or hawk.

"To say they're all the same is not accurate at all,” said Kevin Lauscher, an industrial sales representative for Draganfly Innovations Inc.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration does not plan to permit drones armed with weapons in U.S. civilian airspace, according to an official quoted by the Washington Times. But state agencies, sheriff's offices and universities have already found more widespread use for drones that carry cameras for taking photos or video from above.

Reality Check: Are Sequestration Cuts As Big As Congress and White House Are Making Them Out To Be?

FOX19.com-Cincinnati News, Weather

Sequester Cuts...Devastating?

Amazing how President Obama claims that sequestration would be "devastating". It is also amazing how we can call this "Spending cuts" when the only thing we are cutting is a predetermined spending INCREASES.

Lets look at it like this: This week we are spending $100, next week we plan on spending $200. However we are considering cutting that down to $150, WE STILL INCREASED SPENDING BY $50.

Beyond all of that, wasn't sequestration Obama's plan to begin with? Was it just a campaign strategy? I seem to remember him saying over and over "I have a plan to cut 1.2 trillion from deficit over the next 10 years" yet when the first set of cuts comes along he abolishes it.

What is worse is that most "conservatives" are ok with it. We have 4 congressmen that are fighting for the sequester? SMH

Seize Liberty!

Since the 2012 election I have been campaigning for Liberty. I believe that it still exists in this country, but in many ways it is being forced out. If we don't fight for our liberty it could be gone.

I certain instances we have begged our federal government to take these liberties away, we are convinced that by doing so we will be better protected.

I find it interesting that nearly everyone you talk to will tell you that "politicians cannot be trusted" or "they are all liars" yet when the election is over we conveniently forget all of that and trust them with every aspect of our personal lives.

I believe the federal government has overstepped its bounds and will continue to do so as long as its people do not fight back.  We have given up too many freedoms already: Patriot Act, NDAA, Domestic Drones, SOPA, PIPA, ACTA and now they want to censor the internet with CISPA. We live in the greatest country in the world, but if we allow our government to get too big it will not serve us well.

Patriot Act - The federal government can now listen to your personal conversations and read your personal emails, texts and mail. This can be done without a warrant.

NDAA - Your government can arrest you and lock you up indefinitely without trial.  As an American citizen the federal government has the ability to deny you your right to a trial by jury.

SOPA, PIPA, CISPA - The government wants to censor what we can view on the internet. The internet is one of the last forms of information that is completely open. Television news is so controlled by big corporations and their political party affiliates, that getting accurate information from them is not possible. Not to mention the fact that our federal government admits to pumping propaganda through these media sources.

Domestic Drones - Soon drones will be flying around our country, many of them with missles attached. This is so far gone from what America is supposed to represent that I don't even know what else to say. Not to mention that these same type of drones are killing thousands of innocent people in the middle east (Men, Women and CHILDREN) in a war that was never declared.

I am starting this blog in hopes to in some small way, influence the liberty movement. I believe that the youth in this nation are sick and tired of wars and are ready to stop fighting them. I believe that our country is willing to stand up to the government, but we aren't being educated on what our government is doing. I hope to open a few eyes and hopefully I will learn a thing or two as well.
